For nearly 3 months now we have been watching in disbelief the heartbreaking footage of families losing everything, as bushfires rage throughout parts of our beautiful country destroying homes, lives and our wildlife. This has left many of us feeling at a loss to know how we can help those affected.

Countless stories of devastation are emerging around Australia as the country burns.

The scale of the crisis is hard to comprehend. The wildfires have so far burned millions of hectares, they have killed at least 24 people / 500 million animals and nearly 2000 homes have been destroyed.

Right now, The Red Cross is supporting thousands of people in evacuation centres and recovery hubs across Australia.

They have also set up a ‘Register.Find.Reunite’ service, which reunifies people who have been separated in the bushfire emergency. So far over 30,000 people have registered and The Red Cross has taken more than 5,000 enquires.
